Abstract:
This database management system is comprised of spatial and
tabular data of global soils and climate data sets. A model
estimates soil moisture and temperature regimes. A five minute
rastorized FAO Soil Map of the World is included for easy
reference. Data on about 3,000 soils, georeferenced, are
included. Average monthly temperature and rainfall data of
27,000 stations completes the database. Data can be exported for
modeling work.
Collection Methodology: Soils data collected by field sampling.
Climatic data from national meteorological stations. Digitized
soils information mainly from FAO.
Collection Frequency: Continuous - almost monthly.
