Abstract:
Since 1984, Canadian Forest Service has been collecting data to help monitor the health of Canada's forests. Data is collected from a large number of strategically located plots all across Canada. The data collection occurs at various times. Some parameters are measured more than once a year while others are only meaured once every five years. The data collected covers a number of parameters which are key in determining forest health.The soil data which is collected form the plot network is used to support a number of decision-making functions that ultimately may impact forest policy.
