Abstract:

An Optical Plankton Counter (OPC) was attached to the OSU SeaSoar system and towed along standard sections in the coastal region from Newport, Oregon to Crescent, California. These sections were occupied twice in 2000 and 2002. Not all sections were surveyed equality in time and space. The OPC provided counts and size estimates of zooplankton sized particles that passed through the instrument. Data reported include abundance of particulates and estimates of total carbon biomass and carbon biomass per particulate size class at various time and depth intervals along the ship track. At a minimum, several time intervals are reported per minute.
