Description:
Abstract:
The vegetation mortality maps from the Mountain Area Safety Taskforce (MAST) show distribution of dead trees. The primary cause of the tree deaths has been stress caused by drought followed by infestation of bark beetles. The map products included below are "snapshots" of conditions that have occurred over the recent past, and each is dated to indicate the specific time the conditions were recorded. For current information go to. The maps are available in PDF format. [Summary provided by MAST.]

Access_Constraints: Most of the maps included below consist of Pdf files you can view or download using your browser functionality. Downloading time may be significant, depending upon the map file size and type of network connection you maintain. The specific size of each map file is indicated below as a "kb" number. In general, the larger the ?kb? number (file size in kilobytes), the higher the resolution of the map and the longer it takes to download. Where download options are provided, the Small Format option provides a medium-resolution map designed for printing to an 8.5 X 11 inch format and the Large Format option provides a high-resolution map designed for printing to a 44X36 inch format. The Preview option accesses a small JPEG image file for immediate viewing on your screen.
