Abstract:
The main objective of the COLORS project was to establish a basis for
a European network of sampling sites, where a systematic programme of
long term colour measurements, both oceanic and atmospheric, could be
carried out. The sites provided a cross section of European 'CASE 2'
coastal waters, being located in the Adriatic Sea, English Channel and
the North Sea. All three sites were equipped with identical instrument
packages and special attention was given to intercalibrations to
ensure compatibility of data across sites.
The COLORS CD-ROM contains:
The COLORS data set of marine and atmospheric data originating from
the three COLORS sampling sites.
The processing tools (methods, algorithims & software) for atmospheric
and marine data developed by the project partners in order to generate
higher level products.
The protocols for sample collection and processing, and data
processing adopted for COLORS are extensively documented and available
on the CD-ROM.
