Title: NOAA Orion WP-3D Data from the 1995 Southern Oxidants Study (SOS) Nashville/Middle Tennessee Ozone Study Data Base
Description:
Abstract:
A3 - NOAA Orion WP-3D Data
The Southern Oxidants Study (SOS) conducted a major field research
campaign in Nashville/Middle Tennessee area in June and July 1994 and
1995. The goal of this study was to improve scientific understanding
of the processes that control the production and distribution of ozone
in the troposphere.
The NOAA Orion WP-3D conducted airborne experiments on 16 days during
the 1995 SOS Nashville/Middle Tennesee ozone study. This aircraft
performed a number of long-range regional flights including flights
into the central midwest, the Ohio river region, and the southern
Appalachians. Information are also available on urban and power plant
plume encounters from these flights as well as from flights conducted
in the middle Tennessee region.
The study was conducted from June 21, 1995 through July 20, 1995.
The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) was the coordinator for the 1995
Southern Oxidants Study Nashville/Middle Tennessee Ozone Study. See:
