Title: Measurements of oceanic carbon dioxide and ammonium, and oceanic/atmospheric isoprene during the RRS Discovery 198 research cruise as part of BOFS in the Drake Passage and at Bellinghausen during Nov./Dec. 1992
Description:
Abstract:
This metadata entry refers to measurements of oceanic carbon dioxide, made by Peter Williams; oceanic and atmospheric isoprene, made by Wendy Broadgate; and oceanic ammonium, made by Bob Head, during the RRS Discovery 198 research cruise in the Drake Passage and Bellinghausen as part of the Biogeochemical Ocean Flux Study (BOFS). The cruise began on 11th November 1992 and ended on 15th December 1992 with a spatial coverage of +51S and +65S latitude and +55W and +88W longitude.
The data set consists of:
-11 measurements of the concentration of carbon (total organic) (TCO2) per unit volume of the water column (dissolved plus reactive particulate phase) by coulometry;
-28 measurements of the concentration of 2-methyl-1,3-butadiene (isoprene) per unit volume of the water column (dissolved plus reactive particulate 0.4um phase) by filtration and gas chromatography-flame ionisation detection;
-14 measurements of the concentration (v/v) of 2-methyl-1,3-butadiene (isoprene) per unit volume of the atmosphere (gaseous phase) by gas chromatography-flame ionisation detection; and
-82 measurements of the concentration of ammonium (NH4) per unit volume of the water column (dissolved plus reactive particulate phase) by colorimetric autoanalysis.
