Abstract:

The Tiflis Observatory data resides in 24 books, 'Beobachtungen Des Tifliser Physikalischen Observatoriums' (C/db AO-Tm). These books contain tables of hourly observations and daily, monthly and annual weather data for each year from 1891 to 1927. The parameters included in these tables are the following: hourly observations of pressure, air and soil temperature, humidity, sunshine, cloudiness, wind, evaporation, vertical intensity, horizontal intensity, total intensity and declination, and inclination. The daily, monthly, and annual mean, absolute maximum and minimum are also tabulated for the above variables. These books are part of the foreign meteorological data collection held by the NOAA Central Library in Washington, DC. Information in this collection dates back to the 18th century for daily, monthly, seasonal, and annual tabular summaries, and the 19th century for weather maps. These data are the result of foreign exchange agreements, but the collection has not been updated since 1983.
