This low bandwidth example of the Landsat TM image mosaic service that
will be provided by Earth Satellite Corporation over ESRI's Geographic
Network. This particular service consists of several scale dependent
TIFF images, extracted from the larger MrSID mosaic of the African
Mosaic. Included in the nested dataset is a full resolution Landsat TM
image over Ciaro, Egypt and including the pyramids.
The purpose of this map is to provide an example of EARTHSAT's
Geo-Cover-Ortho service. The user can window down from the full
continent to the full resolution Landsat TM imagery covering Cairo and
the Cheops pyramids.
The full mosaic is comprised of over 1200 Landsat TM scenes ranging in
date from 1987 through 1993, with majority between 1989 and 1991. The
mosaic is available for purchase as a collection of four segments,
each approximately 2 gigbytes in size and priced at $2,500 each.
The data projection is Lambert Equal-Area Azimuthal.
