Title: DOE BNL/PNL Grumman G-1 Data from the 1995 Southern Oxidants Study (SOS) Nashville/Middle Tennessee Ozone Study Data Base
Description:
Abstract:
A4 - DOE BNL/PNL Grumman G-1 Data
The Southern Oxidants Study (SOS) conducted a major field research
campaign in Nashville/Middle Tennessee area in June and July 1994 and
1995. The goal of this study was to improve scientific understanding
of the processes that control the production and distribution of ozone
in the troposphere.
The Grumman G-1, operated jointly by the Department of Energy (DOE)
Pacific Northwest Laboratory (PNL) and Brookhaven National Laboratory
(BNL), conducted airborne experiments on days during the 1995 Southern
Oxidants Study (SOS) Nashville/Middle Tennessee ozone study. The
majority of the G-1 flights were dedicated to documenting urban plume
chemistry. Additional data were collected on power plant plume
encounters and regional background measurements with vertical spirals
over ground sites.
The study was conducted from June 27, 1995 through July 20, 1995.
The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) was the coordinator for the 1995
Southern Oxidants Study Nashville/Middle Tennessee Ozone Study. See:
