Abstract:

ENGLISH Sea level time series associated to the variations of the Antarctic Current Circumpolar (CCA) in the Kerguelen-Amsterdam passage. Sea level measurements have been undertaken in South Indian Ocean with 2 aims: monitoring the seasonal and interannual variations of the ACC transport in the Kerguelen-Amsterdam Passage, validation of the satellite altimeter measurements. Since March 1986, bottom pressure measurements are recorded yearly by using 2 continental shelf pressure gauges. One gauge is moored at the North of Kerguelen Island, by 100 to 200 m depth. The second implemented site lies to the South of Amsterdam Island, between 200 and 400 m depths. The time series are recorded with one measure per hour. The pressure accuracy is 0.1 HPA (about 0.1 cm depth). Aanderaa and SUBER pressure gauges with PAROSCIENTIFICS quartz. Five years of data are available at Kerguelen: 1986 to 1989 and 1991, and four years at Amsterdam: 1986 to 1988 and 1991. Projects: WOCE/France, SUZAN. FRANCAIS Des mesures du niveau de la mer ont ete entreprises dans l'Ocean Indien Sud avec deux objectifs : le suivi des variations saisonnieres et interannuelles du transport du Courant Circumpolaire Antarctique (CCA) dans le passage Kerguelen-Amsterdam et la validation des mesures d'altimetre satellitaire. Depuis mars 1986, les mesures de pression au fond sont enregistrees annuellement a l'aide de 2 capteurs de pression du plateau continental. Un capteur est mouille au nord de l'ile Kerguelen, a des profondeurs de 100 a 200 m. Le deuxieme site de deploiement est situe au sud de l'ile d'Amsterdam, entre 200 et 400 m de profondeur. Les series temporelles sont enregistrees a raison d'une mesure par heure. La precision de la pression est de 0.1 HPA (environ 0.1 cm de profondeur). Il y a cinq annees de donnees disponibles pour Kerguelen: de 1986 a 1989 et 1991, et quatre annees pour Amsterdam: de 1986 a 1988 et 1991. Projets: WOCE/France, SUZAN.
