Leslie Shao-ming Sun Field Station, Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve, Stanford University
Data Center Description
The Leslie Shao-ming Sun Field Station on Stanford University's Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve is a building designed to minimize its energy consumption and to maximize use of solar energy. Its energy use is continually being monitored.
The sunlight is employed in three ways:
1. architecturally by providing natural lighting to many spaces
2. the primary building heat is supplied by solar hot water panels
3. electric energy is supplied by a photovoltaic array on the roof
