The Department of Biology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham is a
dynamic academic partnership which provides a broad-based graduate and
undergraduate curriculum. Most members of the Graduate Faculty have research
specialties centering around the comparative biochemistry, physiology, and
ecophysiology of aquatic organisms. A second important research focus of the
department centers on environmental microbiology.
