Data Center Description
The Japan Marine Science and Technology Center (JAMSTEC) is a
general oceanographic research institution established in
October 1971 based on the ?Law Concerning Japan Marine Science
and Technology Center? (Law No. 63) approved at the 65th Diet
session (1971). It is an entity embodied in a joint effort of
government and industry, and comes under direct supervision of
the Science and Technology Agency (STA).
