Like the long heritage of its predecessors, ATMS combines all the channels of the preceding AMSU-A1, AMSU-A2, and AMSU-B sensors into a single package with considerable savings in mass, power, and volume. Mass: approximately 75 kilograms Average Power: 100 W Development Institution: Northrop Grumman ATMS Sensor Lead: Edward Kim, NASA GSFC Purpose: To provide sounding profiles of atmospheric temperature and moisture Online Resources http://npoess.noaa.gov/index.php?pg=atms http://database.eohandbook.com/database/instrumentsummary.aspx?instrumentID=413 http://npp.gsfc.nasa.gov/atms.html Instrument Logistics Instrument Owner: USA/NOAA USA/NASA |
