Service Provider Description
The research program in laser physics is directed toward developing new high-power lasers, and new high-power, compact accelerators for various defense programs. A very large krypton-fluoride laser, Nike (see brochure) has been developed to evaluate laser fusion as a potential laboratory simulator of nuclear weapons effects, in support of the Department of Energy's Defense Programs and the Defense Nuclear Agency.
