The Quick Earth Study Tool (QUEST) is an interface to a variety of data sets that will allow you to explore the solid Earth. This tool reflects our idea that it is much more fun to explore the Earth for yourself than to have someone tell you a bunch of tedious facts. In fact, this is how scientists work anyway, ... so its probably a better way to learn science as well.
We've set up a series of activities that we think will help you understand different aspect of the Earth: volcanoes, earthquakes, topography, plate tectonics and sea level change. Each activity has a set of questions to answer, because putting your ideas into writing is a great way to make sure you understand what you're looking at. When you've completed an activity, feel free to explore more on your own.
