Summary (Adapted from NASA Langley Atmospheric Sciences Data Center web page.)
It is the NASA Langley Atmospheric Sciences Data Center's desire to enhance the knowledge, skills, and experience of teachers to capture the interest of Earth Science into integrated applications of science, mathematics, technology, and related subject matter.
The Trading Cards ... are accompanied with lesson plans, experiments and cumulative activities to assist elementary and secondary school students and teachers, as well as the general public, learn more about Earth Science.
Various aspects of a scientific project are illustrated on Science, Mission, Data, Satellite, and Instrument cards, with an Introduction card to preface the set. Each card highlights important information that NASA uses in order to measure the Earth's climate.
Radiation budget can be defined as a comparison of how much sunlight reaches the Earth versus how much heat the Earth gives off into space. Studying the Earth's radiation budget helps scientists better understand how our climate works.
The set of Aerosol trading cards will help you understand why atmospheric aerosols have a direct and indirect effect on the Earth's radiation budget. Did you know that volcanic aerosols, desert dust, and human-made aerosols affect the Earth's climate?
The Tropospheric Chemistry Education Page contains a link to printable Tropospheric Chemistry trading cards to help you understand how the chemical properties of the atmosphere affect the Earth's climate.
