Abstract:
This product provides on-line search capabilities for Nova Scotia's
bibliographic geoscience database called NovaScan. All records contained in
NovaScan are accessible as FGDC compliant metadata though the GeoConnections
Discovery Portal and the Canadian Geoscience Knowledge Network (CGKN).NOVASCAN
is the bibliographic geoscience database for Nova Scotia and is produced and
maintained by the
... Mineral Resources Branch of the Nova Scotia Department of
Natural Resources.
NOVASCAN contains geologically indexed records of all the geoscience maps and
documents produced by or collected by the Mineral Resources Branch, such as:
maps (geology, geochemistry, geophysics, land use, mineral deposits, mineral
rights etc.)
publications (bulletins, economic geology series, memoirs, papers, reports
etc.)
open files (illustrations, maps, reports)
university theses (B.Sc. M.Sc., Ph.D.)
mineral exploration assessment reports.
NOVASCAN is updated monthly as new geoscience maps, documents and mineral
exploration assessment reports become available.
Please note that NOVASCAN does not contain any records of Geological Survey of
Canada documents or maps.
