Dartmouth Flood Observatory: Average flood duration (since 1985) - Data organized by the month of flood beginning
Entry ID: DFO_MonthlyFloodDuration1985-2003

[ Update this Record ]

Summary
Abstract: The more common flood duration is under a week. Even if there is no obvious relation between the month of flood beginning and the duration of the floods, the average duration show a decrease of the flood duration from Jul/Aug to Nov/Dec. But this comment does not work for the first months of the year. January and April have high duration averages. This duration is directly related to the high number of long duration floods (> 21 days). January and April are also the more reliable month because they have the lower % of missing data.
