Summary

Abstract: The Australian Museum has an international reputation in the fields of natural
history and indigenous studies research, community programs and exhibitions.
The Museum was established in 1827 and is Australia's first museum, with unique
and extensive collections of natural science and cultural artifacts. The
Australian Museum provides data to the Online Zoological Collections of
Australian Museums (OZCAM) and from there to OBIS Australia and OBIS.

old museum specimens and inaccuracy is often due to this fact.

Access Constraints Data supplied to OBIS by the Australian Museum is freely accessible by the
public. The data supplied may not represent the total holdings of the Museum as
data about incompletely identified specimens, manuscript names and specimens
where a georeference cannot be calculated have normally been withheld from
publication.
