Abstract:
GIS Viewer 4.0 is a web-based tool for displaying and manipulating layers
of geographical points and vectors, and raster data such as maps and images.
GIS Viewer 4.0 is designed to scale from data sets covering the entire earth to
high-resolution imagery of fine details. It has many applications, from
locating, annotating, and sharing information about interesting features of the
large geographic
... data sets, to presenting geopositioned data sets in useful
contexts, to allowing users to pan and zoom museum image collections.

-data editing
-multiple layers of geopositioned data can be turned on and off
-vector, raster, transparent raster and point data are all supported
-a wide variety of data formats can be accommodated
-smooth zoom and pan functionality
