Present-Day Relative and Absolute Plate Motion Calculators from University of Tokyo, Ocean Research Institute
Entry ID: ORI_Plate_Motion_Calc
Summary
Abstract:
Professor Kensaku Tamaki's Plate Motion Calculator provides users a means to
calculate present-day relative or absolute plate motions. Users may choose between two models, NUVEL-1 or NUVEL-1A, to calculate the velocity and direction of a point on a tectonic plate relative to another plate. Absolute motion (direction and velocity of a point on a plate without reference to another plate) is calculated using the HS2-NUVEL model. The calculators are available at http://ofgs.aori.u-tokyo.ac.jp/~okino/platecalc_new.html
