Crop Yield to Crop and Soil Nutrient Element StatusEntry ID: USDA0405
Abstract: The purpose of the "Crop Yield to Crop and Soil Nutrient Element
Status" study is to establish fertilizer requirements for major
crops; evaluate soil and plant analysis procedures; correlate
yield response with soil and plant nutrient levels; and study
environmental effect on yield, soil nutrients, plant nutrients
and their interaction on fertilization requirements. This
resaerch was done to ... examine the relation between crop yield,
nutrient levels, and the environment.
Collection Organization: Ohio State University.
Collection Methodology: Fertilizer experiments conducted for
major crops on predominant Ohio soils. N, P, and K are principal
nutrients studied. Secondary and micronutrients studied when
deemed appropriate. Soils and plant analyses used to evaluate
the nutrient status as affected by fertility treatments.
Correlation and regression studies of soil and plant analyses
with yield and quality parameters and with each other made.
Through soil and plant analyses equations and procedures for
interpreting responses to native and increased soil fertility
are being devised to improve fertilizer recommendations.
Collection Frequency: Ongoing research.
