Lightning and Ozone Production

Abstract: Lightning emissions produce NOx which is used in the production of Ozone. The
MOZART global atmospheric chemistry climate model, developed at NCAR, is used
here to investigate this relationship.These MOZART visualizations were used to
view the relationships between lightning emissions, NOx, and Tropospheric
Ozone. Lightning emissions produce NOx which is used in the production of
Ozone. One of the questions the researchers are attempting to determine is just
how much lightning emissions effect the amount of Ozone produced.
