ESRAD windprofiler radar

Abstract: ESRAD is a windprofiler radar operating at 52.5 MHz, located at Esrange, Sweden. Measurements comprise profiles of horizontal and vertical winds, r.m.s. turbulent velocities and radar scatter cross section (proportional to static stability in the troposphere and lower stratosphere. Height coverage is typically from 1000 m to 15 000 m (all seasons) and from 80 000 m to 90 000 m in summer. Height resoltion 150 m - 600 m. Time resolution 1 minute. This radar operates contunuously since August 1996.
