Summary
Abstract: This file contains meteorological data above the sea surface, and
physical-chemical oceanographic data (at the standard discrete depth levels)
from the Adriatic Sea, from 1913 to the present. These are standard station
data, taken with multi-bottle Nansen casts with reversing thermometers, water
samplers, and CTD/STD. Parameters measured include wind speed and direction,
air temperature, humidity, and pressure, visibility, clouds, weather, sea
state, sea surface temperature, water transparency, water temperature,
salinity, chlorinity, pH, oxygen, phosphates, nitrites, silicates, alkalinity,
and heavy metals.

Cruise information, position, date and time are reported for each station, for
a total of more than 13,000 stations. These data are available in digital
magnetic tape in standard format of Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries
(IOF format) and GF3 format.
