CTD data from unit towed simultaneously with MOCNESS plankton sampler, Antarctic, 2006
Entry ID:
mocness_ctd_B307
Summary
Abstract:
CTD observations were collected simultaneously with the towing of the multi-net MOCNESS plankton sampler (1 and 10 square meter units). Sampling was conducted during the period 14 Feb 2006 to 16 March 2006 during cruise LMG0602. The survey area included the continental margin to the west of the Antarctic Peninsula. These data represent the water column conditions at the time/depth each net was opened along the towed track. In addition, a number of critical net tow parameters are reported with the CTD data stream; the plankton data require these files for ancillary net tow conditions.

Quality
These data should be considered raw/unedited and have not had post-cruise calibrations applied. The data are poor until the net gets into the water.
Use Constraints
Any person making substantial use of a data set must communicate with the investigators who acquired the data prior to publication and anticipate that the data collectors will be co-authors of published results. This extends to model results and to data organized for retrospective studies.
