FY-3A MWH VASS atmospheric temperature and humidity profile level 2 data product

Abstract: VASS atmospheric temperature and humidity profile product:

The database, with a resolution of 15km, is global atmospheric temperature and humidity profiles retrieved from 4 microwave channels of MWTS, 5 microwave channels of MWHS and VIRR cloud mask which has been matched onto pixels of MWHS. It contains latitude, longitude, land-sea mask, land cover and surface height, solar zenith angle, solar azimuth angle, satellite zenith angle, satellite azimuth angle of 98 MWHS pixels per scanline. Meanwhile, brightness temperature of MWTS, brightness temperature of MWHS, cloud percentage, oceanic rain screen, atmospheric temperature and humidity profile on each pixel are also involved in the datadase.

Purpose: VASS atmospheric temperature and humidity profile product:

Weather analysis, data assimilation in numerical weather/climatic prediction, research on climate change, etc.
