Isotopes in Gases in Firn Air and Shallow Ice at the Proposed WAIS Drilling Site
Entry ID: white_0440498

Abstract: This is a multi-institutional project investigating gas concentrations and isotope ratios of gases in the upper part of the Inland WAIS ice core. The Stable Isotope Lab at INSTAAR of the University of Colorado is collaborating directly with Todd Sowers at Penn State University on methane isotopes (Todd is the lead PI), with Ed Brook at Oregon State University on isotopes of carbon dioxide, and with Mark Battle at Bowdoin on gas modeling. Our role at SIL-INSTAAR is to measure and interpret stable isotope ratios of methane and carbon dioxide in the air in cooperation with our co-investigators.
