Entrapment of long-distance transported pollen grains by various moss species in coastal Victoria Land, Antarctica
Entry ID: Species_in_Victoria_Land

Abstract: In northern Victoria Land (continental Antarctica, between 72 and 76 degrees S,
162 and 169 degrees E), 18 moss samples have been collected and analyzed for
the presence of pollen. In turfs and cushions of 8 different moss species, at

MICROSCOPES Ancillary Description
Quality Moss turfs were collected from 18 sites in coastal northern Victoria Land in
December 1990 and January 1991. Whenever possible, turfs of different species
of moss with adhering soils were removed from the ground and each samples
packed and sealed in a separate plastic bag. At the Italian station Baia Terra
