Toolsets for Airborne Data (TAD)
Entry ID: NASA_TAD

Summary
Abstract: The Toolsets for Airborne Data (TAD), developed at the Atmospheric Science Data Center (ASDC) at NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) to promote the airborne data use, is now available.

This beta-release has an intuitive user interface for variable selection across different airborne field studies and includes features to create merge files based on a user?s choice of time base. In addition, the TAD merge feature allows users to generate standard deviation and to process point-by-point uncertainties and limit of detection values.

You can access TAD at: tad.larc.nasa.gov where a registration with the ASDC is required. It will take no more than 3 minutes. For a quick walkthrough of TAD, there is a short YouTube video tutorial link in the top right hand corner.

Currently TAD has five data sets, whose output files are in the ICARTT (International Consortium for Atmospheric Research on Transport and Transformation) format:

DISCOVER-AQ MD (Deriving Information on Surface conditions from Column and Vertically Resolved Observations Relevant to Air Quality Maryland),
ARCTAS (DC-8) (Arctic Research of the Composition of the Troposphere from Aircraft and Satellites),
INTEX-B (Intercontinental Chemical Transport Experiment - Phase B),
INTEX-NA (Intercontinental Chemical Transport Experiment - North America), and
NEAQS (NOAA) (New England Air Quality Study)
