GLAS/ICESat L2 Global Planetary Boundary Layer & Elevated Aerosol Layer Heights V033
Entry ID: GLA08

Abstract: The level 2 planetary boundary layer and elevated aerosol layer height data will be provided at a minimum of once per 4 seconds. Data granules will contain approximately 23 hours (14 orbits) of data.

Purpose: The purpose of this file is to provide the heights of planetary boundary layers and aerosol layers to the research user community. Planetary boundary layer (PBL) height data will be provided at once per 4 seconds and at 5 times per second. Elevated aerosol layer height data will consist of top and bottom heights for up to 5 aerosol layers below 20 km at once per 4 seconds, and top and bottom heights for up to 3 aerosol layers above 20 km at once per 20 seconds.
